We Carry Fire - Week 2

Week 2 Recap:

Carrying the Fire of God Everywhere

Introduction

Summer heat is nothing compared to the fire God calls us to carry. In our series “We Carry Fire,” we’ve been exploring what it means to live ignited by His presence. Jesus gives us not only the promise of salvation but also the power and purpose to share it. Today, we’ll dive into what it means to be lit by His presence and how that changes everything about our mission, our mindset, and our daily walk.

Fueled by His Promise

Our faith begins with a promise: if we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died and rose again for our sins, we are forgiven and granted eternal life. This promise is not just for us—it’s meant to transform those around us. Like a fire that spreads, God’s love moves from one life to the next, igniting hope, purpose, and change.

Lit by His Presence

Matthew 28:18–20 reminds us that Jesus holds all authority in heaven and on earth. This means we never walk alone. His presence empowers us to face our fears, share our faith, and live boldly. We don’t have to rely on our strength or knowledge; we move forward because He goes before us and remains with us always, even to the end of the age.

Called to Go Everywhere

The Great Commission isn’t limited to missionaries or pastors—it’s a call for every believer. Some may travel across the world, while others impact lives right where they are. Whether it’s through financial giving, prayer, or simply sharing faith at the grocery store, God calls us to take the gospel to every corner of the world, starting with our own neighborhoods.

Reaching Everyone

Jesus’ mission is radically inclusive: every nation, every language, every background. The gospel tears down barriers of race, culture, and status. Following Christ means embracing His heart for all people—even those who are different from us. It challenges our prejudices and calls us to love as He loves, because God’s fire is for everyone.

Remembering His Power and Presence

Carrying the fire can feel overwhelming. The task of making disciples, teaching His commands, and living faithfully seems impossible. But that’s the point: we aren’t called to do it alone. Jesus, who has all authority, promises to be with us. When we remember that He is with us, fear fades and faith grows.

Closing

We are carriers of His fire—fueled by His promise, lit by His presence, and sent to reach the world. You don’t need to have all the answers, all the resources, or all the courage. You simply need to remember who is with you. The One who holds all authority walks beside you. So step out in faith, and watch His fire spread.
